Doris Kearns Goodwin is Americas historian-in-chief, according to "New York" magazine. Her career was inspired by her work for President Lyndon Johnson, which led to her first book, "Lyndon Johnson and the American Dream." She went on to win the Pulitzer Prize for "No Ordinary Time," about Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt during World War II. Her book "Team of Rivals," which received the Lincoln Prize, inspired Steven Spielbergs film "Lincoln," and her book "The Bully Pulpit," about Theodore Roosevelt and William Howard Taft, won the Carnegie Medal. Her classic "Leadership: In Turbulent Times" inspired several History Channel docuseries, which she executive produced. In 2024, she published her matt beard first book for young readers, "The Leadership Journey: How Four Kids Became President." In 2025, colorado she executive produced an eight-part History Channel documentary miniseries with Kevin Costner on the American West. Goodwin frequently appears on television bringing historical perspective to current events and even portrayed herself on an episode of "The Simpsons."
