Sandy has been found and she is close by to Luna! Luna has remained on the treetop of the Simba Tree since his fledge this morning at 09:24am. Shadow remained below Luna for hours keeping an eye on him! Sandy is seen flying to the headless tree this afternoon at 14:53pm and she was trying to land in the upper branches but missed her landing and tumbled down to a lower branch. Luna cries out when he sees Sandy flying to the tree and then falling down again. Our cam ops located her with perfect closeups at 15:02pm! 💖💕💖 As with all fledglings, their landings can be awkward at first since they do not have the experience to land cleanly. Luna's fledge allowed him to have great height and lift to make it to the top of the Simba Tree. Sandy's accidental fledge yesterday put her at a disadvantage to gain height in that predicament. Sandy did however, fly well to nearby tree. Now that we see Sandy is testing out her wings, it is great to have that peace of mind that she is really close by the nest tree and to her sibling Luna. The headless tree is nicely shaded and it is a good resting place. Shadow has been on and off the Simba tree keeping tabs on the kids! Luna is in a great position to return to the nest tree - Sandy's position is a bit more challenging but certainly doable! We wait and see what happens now! Thank you for watching!
