Jackie the bald eagle has captured the hearts of millions of people who have followed her life at Big Bear Lakeand now she is facing one of the greatest challenges of her life.

In this video, I take an in-depth look at Jackie's incredible history, her relationship with Shadow, the story of their family, and the heartbreaking events that led to her current medical crisis.

I'll also discuss the latest information available about Jackie's condition, including reports of severe anemia and kidney inflammation, and explain what these findings can mean from a general medical perspective.

As a registered nurse, I'll use my medical background to help explain some of the terminology and physiology behind Jackie's condition. However, I am not part of Jackie's veterinary care team, and this video is not intended to diagnose Jackie or second-guess the veterinarians and wildlife rehabilitators caring for her.
