The Big Bear Valley remained unusually quiet throughout the day, with only brief glimpses of Shadow and the young female in the early morning, perched on separate trees but seemingly accepting of one another’s presence. Late in the afternoon, Shadow returned and settled on the Twin Pines. Before long, the female flew in and perched nearby. Shadow remained tolerant as she stayed for a while, flew out, and then returned again — this time landing a little closer. Shadow appeared momentarily startled, but there was no aggression. Then, when the female took a step closer, Shadow chose to fly away. As night falls over the valley, the young female remains perched on the Twin Pines. For now, Shadow continues to tolerate her presence — but she appears to be testing the distance between them, one careful step at a time. What tomorrow brings remains to be seen. As we hope for Jackie's recovery and return home.. Original live video courtesy of FOBBV live eagle cams.
