Overnight In A Blizzard In An Extreme Scottish Mountain Shelter | Jock’s Road Casper Ruud [oQS2rcpd0zF]

I set out luke kennard to cross Jocks Road in the Cairngorms but got caught in a whiteout blizzard on the plateau.

Jocks Road is one of Scotlands most famous droving routes in Scotland and the dangerous plateau is known as the Mounth.

What started as a straightforward action collective crossing quickly changed. On the plateau, I was caught in a full whiteout blizzard with near-zero visibility. With conditions deteriorating, I made it to the shelter Davies Bourach, one of the highest emergency shelters in the UK, where I spent the night.

Along the way, I explore the history of Jocks Road, once used by cattle drovers crossing between Deeside and Angus and share more about the landscape, wildlife, and conditions jeep cherokee ptu recall in this part of the Cairngorms.
