Instead of booking a traditional cruise excursion, we rented a car through Turo and explored Sitka at our own pace. Our port day included historic St. Michaels Cathedral, downtown Sitka, the Alaska Raptor Center, and the scenic Sitka waterfront surrounded by mountains and coastal viewsAt the Alaska Raptor Center, we experienced close views of bald eagles and other birds of prey while learning about its mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and release injured wild birds. It is one of the most unique wildlife attractions and popular things to do in Sitka, Alaska.Due to Sitkas extended winter season, Fortress of the Bear was closed during our visit.
