SHADOW GUARDING HIS TERRITORY & DELIVERING A FISH! They told us Jackie is underweight but alert, perching and eating with assistance. They have not received the test results yet but should within the next couple of days. We do want to say thank you to all who helped Jackie. We had locals and visitors that stayed in the area where Jackie was basically grounded to keep an eye on her and make sure she was safe. They tried contacting several agencies for help with no response. One individual went to the local San Bernardino County fire station jack leiter in Fawnskin and reported the situation. Captain Dennis Jones and team responded to the call for help. They finally got in contact with San Dimas Raptor Rescue, of LA County Parks Dept. The rescue team agreed to come out. Captain Jones and team stayed with Jackie to protect her from other wildlife and human interference for several hours until 2:00am when the rescue team arrived. From visitors hoping to spot an eagle, to local residents, to the fire department team and finally San Dimas Raptor Rescue, they are all Jackies angels! We have been in constant contact with them, they have provided videos, pictures and accounts of what was taking place at the time. We are thankful to each and every one of them for being there and protecting Jackie. Saturday afternoon, Jackie was transported to Ojai Raptor Center for care. We are equally grateful to both organizations for caring for Jackie. We have included links below if you would like to donate and show your appreciation and support for the work they do, not only for Jackie but for all place bell raptors that pass through their doors.Both organizations have asked that you follow social media for updates. Shadow delivers a fish in the afternoon and both Sandy & Luna follow him flying to the basement first then the nest. Sandy claimed the fish & ate it. Luna was vocal calling for Shadow to bring another fish!Shadow was seen perching on Cactus Snag guarding his territory and looking for Jackie. Shadow then went to Lookout Snag while Sandy & Luna flew to CS. Sandy flies to the basement to roost tonight - Luna flies to Simba Tree. Shadow is roosting in his favorite spot Roost cake Tree. Shadow will continue to focus on providing for Sandy & Luna & protecting his territory while Jackie is receiving care at Ojai Raptor Center.
